This year’s Rottnest swim again surprised participants with unpredictable surf conditions and a strong current. Two days before the event, the swimmers were relaxed and happy with a weather forecast of light winds, a high air temperature of around 40°C and a small swell – perfect conditions for an enjoyable and safe 20km open water
The swim of the month is the Cook Strait swim completed by Marty Filipowski . On 23rd of February, Marty successfully crossed between the South and North Island of New Zealand. He is the first Vladswim swimmer and 100th ever swimmer to complete this swim. Near perfect conditions allowed Marty to finish in 9 hours

In December we ran our 4th 2015 5km and 10km Swim Event from Chinaman’s beach. This year a record number of swimmers attended with over 150 people taking part.
