What a great day it was on Sunday. The weather was great, bit nippy in the wind but the swimmers had a strong southerly pushing them up the coast. Vladswimmers were out in force with around 16 solos competing, some in duos and some in teams. We also had a number paddling for swimmers which is great to see. It’s like we are one big happy family helping everyone out.
I’ve listed results that I wrote down on the day so there may be a couple of discrepancies but you get the gist. The first 3over the line all came to our Melb camp where they worked together to get through the 8 hr swim. Tori was first girl, she came in said hello, turned around and swam back to Bondi. Her last hit out before she heads to Manhattan. Nicola got 2nd girl which according to Coach Evan who paddled for her was due to his brilliant navigational skills, but I think Nicos swimming was a much bigger factor. Simon Smith finally got to do his long swim, Mick only learnt to swim around 2 years ago, John Capone oldest competitor and Anna Doubell succeed her great swim.
Everyone did a fantastic job and both Vlad and I are pretty proud and happy.
