World Masters Games in Auckland

A strong team of five Vladswim swimmers competed in the pool and ocean at the World Masters Games in Auckland from 21-30 April 2017. Detailed results below:

Angela Chau

• 50 Free – 3rd
• 200 Free – 3rd
• 50 Fly – 3rd
• 4×50 Women’s Medley relay – 2nd
• 4×50 Women’s Freestyle relay – 2nd & PB
• 4×50 Mixed Medley relay – 4th
• 4×50 Mixed Freestyle relay – 4th by 0.03s!

Chris Mulhern

• 5km ocean swim – 4th
• 800 free – 7th & a 38 second PB!
• 400 free – 7th & PB
• 200 free – 17th & PB
• 100 free – 17th & PB
• 50 free – 14th & PB

Talbot Henry

• 400 free – 7th
• 200 free – 7th
• 100 breast – 4th
• 4×50 Mixed Medley relay – 4th
• 4×50 Mixed Freestyle relay – 4th by 0.03s!

Fi Tschaut

• 4×50 Mixed Medley relay – 4th

Ben Van Rooy

• 1.5km ocean swim – 1st
• 2.5km ocean swim – 3rd

Talbot, Fi and Andre also competed in the Surf Lifesaving events and won many Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The next World Masters Games will be in Japan in 2021, hopefully more Vlad swimmers will be competing!
