A, Our swimmers in action
3rd and 9th November our swimmer Cyril’s had a fundraising swim –70 x100m at Des Renford Pool, Maroubra. Cyril did great job and another swimmers came to support him. It was nice to see Rachael, Scott, Katarina, John and also Vlad in the pool. Cyril couldn’t stop doing long swim sessions in the pool and the week after he did the 70×100 challenge he jumped into Botany pool and swam 70×200 set. Rachael, Daniel, Katarina and others were again helping him get through the set. Irene also pooped down for Brisbane to show her support. And for that were wondering – yes he has just turned 70. Great job guys
We have around 20 swimmers registered as solos for the Rottnest swim in Feb 2014. This is the highest number of squad swimmers in history of Vladswim. I hope everyone takes their preparation seriously. Good luck
On 15thNov 8 swimmers travelled to Currarong Beach – Thanks to Lawrence we had a wonderful weekend. Accommodation was in the one house so it got all swimmers together and in a relaxed atmosphere enabled everyone to feel part of the swim team. On the camp we attended 4 swims and covered around 15k of swimming. Great Jarvis Bay location gave everyone a beautiful swim experience. Thank you Lawrence for great idea
23rd Nov. Nutrition Seminar at Bondi with Sarah Dacres-Mannings was great and educational for everyone. Sarah is the only dietician in NSW who has been awarded Fellow (education) status with Sports Dieticians Australia and she has been a Vladswim member and ocean swimmer for years. She explained to everyone about main source of energy for distance swimmers and also about other nutritional components affecting swimming performance. The money collected on the seminar was donated to Sarah as fundraising for the Red Cross Blood bank. Vladswim team send $400.
