Last Saturday we had planned a swim of more than 8 hours as part of English Channel preparation. Question was, where were we are going to do this swim. After perfectly timed email from Iain McGregor , Tori, Ali and Wayne, decided to join them in a 8 hours swim in different ocean water direction to what they have ever done before. They took a great idea from some north side swimmers and joined them in the Challenge swim which was from Palm Beach to Shelly beach.
Tori with her great organization skills set up all safety aspects. The swimmers started at 7am and began the long journey south. With 6 paddlers a boat and jetski for safety they had all angles covered.
The distance from Palm Beach in Sydney’s north to Shelly Beach, Manly is around 28km and this was biggest swim that all the swimmers had done (after Rottnest 20km). The swim took them 8hours and 30min which are showed them all that their fitness preparation is on track for Channel this year.
Thank you to all supports Palm Beach surf club and also Gorman Family for help during this swim.
Myself and Charm would like to congratulate Tori, Wayne and Ali on a great swim.
Thank you.
