In the month of August, we had 3 swimmers who successfully completed channel:
Wyatt with time 16 hours 17min was the first swimmer in August touching the coast of France. His swim was hard and painful. After 6 hours his shoulder started to be sore and next 10 hours he was swimming in pain and fighting the tide, but he didn’t give up and finished it. Great job Wyatt!
Next swimmer was Alistair who I accompanied on the boat. Tide, wind, fog, waves, swim direction and team work were all aspects that affected Ali’s swim. Ali had great surf conditions, at some places the water was flat like at our last year’s Fiji swim. After 12hours and 40min Ali stood up on beach in France where local Frenchman gave him 2 rocks as a memory for his swim. Ali, excellent swim!
Wayne was the faster’s swimmer: 10 hours and 29min. He swam like from a book. In the same pace, same stroke rate and short feeding time. After swim he didn’t look like he just swam Channel. So, its great sign of his fitness. As coach I am very proud and happy that all swimmers finished their challenge swim.
Thank you Vlad-coach
