What is Vladswim Challenge Swim
In 2010, Vlad Coach commenced coaching swimmers for the Rottnest Channel swim, requiring all participants to complete a 10 km qualifying swim. At that time, there were no official ocean water swim events of this distance in NSW and QLD.
Inspired by this gap, Vlad, along with his family, organised the first 10 km ocean swim event in Sydney, NSW in 2012, marking the inception of marathon swimming history in the region.
The Vladswim Challenge takes place in the picturesque Sydney Harbour, specifically in the Balmoral suburb. This exclusive event features a unique turning point—a floating Santa—at Balmoral Beach. It’s a family-friendly gathering where Vladswim swimmers come together during Christmas time, making it a special event for those aiming to accomplish their first swim of the year’s end.
