Coach Comments
Gym training is an important part of developing strength for swimming. Each session should focus on two, maximum three, muscle groups to allow effective training and recovery.
**Example weekly gym program:**
– **Session 1 – Back & Shoulders:** Choose 3 exercises for your back muscles and 3 exercises for your shoulders.
– **Session 2 – Chest & Biceps:** Focus on strengthening your chest and biceps with 3 exercises for each muscle group.
– **Session 3 – Legs & Triceps:** Choose 3 exercises for your legs and 3 exercises for your triceps.
**Finish every session with abdominal and core exercises.**
Always focus on correct technique, controlled movements and gradual increases in resistance. Stretching after every gym session is important for flexibility, mobility and muscle recovery.
Remember, the goal is to build a stronger body that supports efficient swimming.
**RELAX, SMILE AND BE HAPPY**
